Fixcast help
Fixcast monitors the health of RTK/NTRIP correction streams from the outside — with no access to your receiver. This is where each part of the portal is explained.
What Fixcast is
Precise GNSS surveying (RTK) needs correction data from a reference station. It is delivered over NTRIP — a protocol where the receiver connects to a server (a caster) and subscribes to a chosen mountpoint (a single correction stream). When that stream is delayed, intermittent or carries too few satellites, survey quality drops — and it is often unclear whether the fault is on your side or the network's.
Fixcast connects to the stream just like a receiver would, decodes the raw RTCM3 messages and shows a plain-language verdict: correction age, message cadence, the count and type of the reference station's satellites. Full RTCM detail is available for experts.
Two parts of the service
- Mobile app (iOS/Android) — connects to a stream from the field, shows a live verdict and can send an issue report to the network operator. No survey receiver required.
- Web portal (here) — a public map and directory of RTK networks, planning tools (satellite visibility, site corrections, coverage) and a signed-in area for network operators.
Privacy in brief
Precise location is never stored server-side. Community and aggregated data use location only as a coarse cell (H3) and are shown only once five or more measurements exist (K-anonymity). Finer location is relayed to a human in only two cases, always with consent and live (never stored): the optional location in an issue report, and live remote support.
