What compatibility depends on
MSM vs. legacy
Modern streams carry observables in the MSM format (messages 1071–1127). Very old receivers only do “legacy” (1004/1012). An MSM-only stream won’t work on a legacy-only receiver.
SSR vs. OSR
Standard RTK correction is OSR (observation-space). SSR (state-space, PPP-RTK) needs a receiver that can process it — otherwise the stream is unusable.
VRS / network mounts
Network (VRS) mounts generate a correction for your location — the receiver must send its position via a GGA message. Almost all can.
Constellations
A stream carries corrections for certain constellations (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou…). If your device doesn’t track one, it loses those satellites but usually still gets a fix.
The estimate is based on data advertised in the sourcetable, which may not match the stream’s actual content. The exact verdict (MSM level, SSR, satellites, station identity) is determined by the Fixcast app from the decoded stream once connected.
